NPS: Minimum Guaranteed National Pension System (NPS) Return Scheme can be approved soon. The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) board is likely to get approval in 7 to 10 days. Minimum Guaranteed Return Scheme may be launched within the next 4 months. In a special conversation with Zee Business, PFRDA Chairman Supratim Bandopadhyay said, investors will get full return from the Minimum Guaranteed Return Scheme. 10 Fund Managers have been selected for this scheme. In the Minimum Guaranteed Return Scheme, only people below 50 years will be able to participate in the scheme. NPS has given an average return of 10% over a period of 13 years. In the new scheme, there can be half of it i.e. 4 to 5 percent guaranteed return. Subscribers will be able to get up to 5 percent return if the earnings are low. The additional return will also go to the subscriber's account only. The amount of minimum contribution is possible at Rs 5000 annually. Also the returns on National Pension Scheme (NPS) are market linked which is not guaranteed.Management fees for guaranteed returns will be higher
Along with this, there will also be a condition that the fund management charge of the guaranteed return scheme will be higher. Currently, the fund management charge on Normal NPC is 0.09%, but it can be 0.25% on Guaranteed Return Scheme.
